I love my kids!

Josh took Tyler with him to the Dodger "all you can eat" right field on Saturday. All of the Bladh boys went and they ate way too many hotdogs, nachos, peanuts, sodas, etc. Not to mention it was 110' that day and they were there for the noon game. I just told Josh to pour water on him every inning and cake the sunscreen on. Regardless they had a blast.
Here Tyler is driving home from the game. Poor guy he was so tired.

Every now and then in the morning I will go into Elle's room and find Tyler has climbed into the crib with her and he has filled it with tons of toys. Last week I took these pictures because it was just so cute. Not to mention Elle is totally walking now. I've been meaning to get it on video. Maybe next week.

Tyler just had his birthday and Josh's mom got him these socks that needed to be first placed in water to expand into socks. So we put them in the sink and they of course turned into socks. We were up really late that night. We put up his new trampoline and he didn't get into bed until 10:30. When I told him it was time for bed he just threw himself crying, "I'm not even tired." I had to fight him to get on his pjs, and to brush his teeth, and to say his prayers. He literally cried and yelled out I don't like you's and you are mean's. It was so sad, but kind of funny at the same time. Anyways, the socks... As we finished brushing his teeth he told me he wanted to wear his socks to bed. Now they were still soaking wet in his sink and so of course I told him absolutely not. I decided I didn't want to fight anymore and I put the socks on thinking he would take them off right away. He didn't and went to bed with them on. I barely got to take this picture of him.

Flat Tire Again!

My sister, Kristi, just finished High School and she invited me to her graduation from Don Lugo High School. I was suppose to take the kids with me to the restaurant then drop them off at Grandpa and Grammie Bladh's home because Josh was working, then meet over at my parents and go to the graduation. Well, on our way to the restaurant I thought I hit something in the road, but I think that a lot because I am so prone to getting flat tires. In fact I have already gotten one this year and had 2 last year. So I keep driving because if you know Archibald, it feels like you have a flat tire when you are driving on it anyways. I get on the freeway and I drive about 4 miles and then I hear this awful sound. Like someone's muffler is gone. I notice people starring at me so I get over and sure enough less then a mile from off of the freeway and my tire is completely flat. We waited about 40 min. on the freeway until Josh's parents got the kids, my dad came to pick me up, and AAA came to change my tire. It wasn't all too bad. I missed dinner, but made it to the graduation. Here are some pictures of our event. Just glad I didn't have to change the tire!

Our getaway

We just got back from a weekend cruise without the kids and it was so relaxing and fun. It definitely wasn't like a week cruise but hey it was without kids. We didn't even get off of the boat because when we arrived in Ensenada we looked out and decided that the ship was nicer. We pretty much layed out in the sun, ate, slept, and made some new friends. We were so nervous that we'd get put at a table with people we didn't want to talk to, but we ended up making friends with another couple and hung out with them almost the entire time. I forgot my makeup... my worst nightmare. I had this feeling I was going to do it and of course I did. So I bought some mascara on the ship and then one night I went to the gift shop and used their tester makeup. I know that sounds bad but we got so much sun that my face looked blotchy and I didn't want to spend $75 on cover up if I didn't like. If you've never been on a cruise or have only been on a weekend one; nothing compares to a week cruise. The ship, the food, the entertainment, and the people on the ship are much better. We are looking forward to our week one to Mexican Riviera in Sept. I think we still have one more cabin if anyone wants to go! Here's some pictures

Who is right?

Josh and I have been having this very light argument about what chores are okay for women to do. When he was unable to mow the lawn we paid Chaz (his brother) do it. I mowed it once just because I was sick of seeing it not nice. When Josh came home, he got upset because he said that mowing the lawn is not for women to do. Now I can understand that it is more of a man job, but I enjoy doing it because I can be doing something while Tyler can play outside. Now our question is does mowing a lawn and pulling weeds (yard work) fall under the same category? In other words if a women shouldn't be mowing the lawn should she be pulling weeds, adjusting sprinklers, edging the lawn...? Give us your complete and honest opinion, because Josh totally thinks he is right and I know that I am right. (He said I couldn't put my opinion because then everyone would be on my side.)

Us at the Beach

I feel like a complainer after that last post. How embarassing. I guess I just needed to vent, but I should written it then erased it. Anyways. We went to the beach last week when it was 105 and at first elle wasn't so sure, but then she didn't want to leave. She kept crawling/walking right down into the waves. She was probably watching Tyler. That kid is crazy. He lets the waves throw him everywhere. There were a couple of times when he went under and scared me half to death. He didn't care and just laughed. I feel very blessed for everything that I have and especially my family. Josh is so great and I love him.

April

Well since a month has past and I have neglected my blog once again I have a ton to update. This month Tyler started preschool. I dropped him off, he gave me a hug and ran off. That was it. Then it was Josh's turn to drop him off. Tyler got there and ran off again. But Josh was so sad to see Tyler old enough to leave. Sometimes he is more emotional then me. But that's okay because I love him for it. I painted my bedroom/bathroom, got new bedroom furniture, moved out my old stuff, and put the new stuff together, sealed all of our tile grout, washed down our exterior walls, dug all of the weeds, mowed the lawn, broke up cardboard... and other normal male projects. All because I have no patience when Josh is not capable and has no time. His knee is getting much better, but then he got this awful stuff flue that has lasted 2 weeks now. Maybe this is all a plan, to see how much I will do on my own.
Elle is doing so much better. She really is close to walking now. Now taking a couple steps all the time. She talks up a baby storm and she really loves to sing songs and do the hand actions to them.
Josh and I are going on a little weekend cruise the first weekend of June and then a 7 day one in Sept. If anyone wants to go on the Sept. one. We got an awesome deal!
We also got our house toilet papered by some girls whose husbands were away. Hmm, I wonder who that could have been. Wish I could have been helping. I am really looking forward to doing that with my kids.
I don't like musicals too much. I feel that I don't understand what is going on and they are just singing the entire time. Josh loves them so we go; however, Wicked is so good that this was our 2nd time going. Well worth the money. You should go if you haven't.

Easter

Tyler and Juli dying easter eggs.He thought it was just so cool that he could make green from blue and yellow. I was surprised that he knew it without me telling him. Elle enjoyed easter too!Tyler left his easter candy out after telling him several times to pick it all up so I just let her get into it. I think he learned a lesson.

Elle's Easter

She found Tyler's easter candy and dug right in.

First Step

Elle took her first step yesterday (I did trick her). She is such a stinker and I really have to work with her to learn to walk. She would rather crawl everywhere. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I can get her to actually want to walk without me tricking her. We'll see. Josh is doing pretty good. He is still nauseous throughout the day, but he actually went to work for 3 hours or so yesterday and some today. I think he is crazy, especially since the doctor told him 2 weeks. He has to keep his leg completely straight and it makes it hard to move around. All I have to say is said my peace and there should be no complaining, right! I love him. Thanks for all of your support and prayers for Josh's recovery. It definitely has been a lot easier having help then doing it on my own.

Josh's Knee Surgery

Josh had meniscus and ACL surgery (knee repairs on his left leg) on Friday morning, the 14th. We had to be there at 6am, which was torture because we hadn't gotten use to the time change yet so it felt like 4am when we got up. Anyways, the surgery went real well the doctor was like the same age as us which felt weird, but he was really good. Josh felt really nauseous after and they gave him 3 different drugs until he felt better. So we were there in the recovery for almost 3 hrs. and you could tell they were trying to get rid of him as fast as they could. So far I have really liked having Kaiser Insurance. I was able to get his prescription drugs right there before we went home, the doctor gave him the best ice machine and they just took good care of him. We got home about 1:30 from the hospital and he has basically gone from our bed to the couch for the past 72 hours. He has kept himself busy by reading lots of books on business. And I am very grateful for all of the help because I didn't realize that I would be just physically exhausted from taking care of him at odd hours and taking care of the kids. I guess I am finding out that Josh sure did a lot around here. He is very helpful when he can be.

Elle Update

Elle is almost walking. We have been working so hard with her, along with her teachers and we are just praying that it will happen in the next week or so. She just turned 18 months and she had her first day of nursery. I couldn't believe Josh left her, but she went right for the toys and didn't look back. The nursery leader said she did great.

The Lovely Bladh Family

Josh and Erika

For those who I have not seen for a long time I thought that I should write a little about our family. Josh and I were married Feb. 22,2003 and are as happy as can be...really! We have 2 kids, Tyler (3) and Elle (14 mos). We will have more but taking a break. We are hopefully less then 2 weeks away from moving to our brand spankin' new house in Corona. Josh is doing real estate loans and I am doing real estate. We feel that the Lord has blessed us so much to have a lovely family, a home (soon), and a career that we just love and find fascinating.
