Happy Halloween

We had a blast on Halloween. We did corn bread chili and the fixing at the Jorgenson's home About 10 families joined in. We did trick or treating around the neighborhood and we used Josh's parents huge screen and projected a movie for the kids to see in the backyard. It turned out to be really fun and a great way to get to know more people in our ward.
(Tyler, that was some really yummy hot chocolate!)

Elle would not sit still for a stinkin' picture so this is the best one we got. Sad... She was just so excited to be with so many kids.

Tyler had to be a Red Power Ranger. There was no other option. Surprisingly he didn't get lost with all of the other Red Power Rangers.

Tyler's preschool had a party and sang 3 Halloween songs. Tyler told us it was a surprise so he wasn't ever able to sing the songs when he was at home. I wish we had our video camera because he was so loud that it was kind of hard to hear the rest of the kids.

Elle loved all of the singing and was dancing away

Both Grandma's came to watch

We got these costumes given to us and Tyler had to dress up.

Elle didn't like it too much!

Tom's Farm

Yesterday we went to Tom's Farms to pick out a pumpkin. We had so much fun. However, it took us 20 minutes to pick out a pumpkin. Tyler just made us laugh along with other people looking for a pumpkin. Tyler would pick a pumpkin and then Josh would say alright is this the one you want to buy and then Tyler would say, "no, I think the one I want is over there," and then he'd run over to the other side of the pumpkin patch and look for another one. It took him at least 7-8 times of doing this until Josh convinced him that was the right pumpkin.
After the pumpkin patch we went and saw the animals. I was very surprised that neither one of my kids were scared by any of the animals. In fact they both were very willing to feed them. After the animals we ate at their BBQ and Mexican restaurant.
We had a great family outing!

About Prop 8

Lately all I have been able to think about is Prop 8 and the percussions it will have on my family and our posterity if it doesn't pass. I have family, friends, and acquaintances that either are gay or are in an opposing view as me on this proposition so I feel the strong necessity to write about it in my blog to inform those whom may not know what the prop is really all about.

If the proposition passes the constitution will be changed to marriage between a man and a woman is all that will be recognized in California. Therefore, 4 judges or high up politicians will not be able to change it again.
If the proposition doesn't pass then we will have to recognize gay marriage as legally and morally constitutional. This will not only change the definition of marriage. It will take away those people's rights who do not believe that gay marriage is morally or religiously right. This will lead to teaching it in schools (probably when they are taught about sex eduation, but will be able to be taught at even a younger age. Look at what's already happening in schools in Massachusetts's: http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1815825713). What scares me the most is that we may not even know that our children are being taught about it. Religious rights will also be taken away. Preachers, pastors, bishops, teachers, etc. will not be able to speak out about gay actions as being immoral and will have to marry same sex couples in order to get tax exemptions.

I am not one to be good with wording or creative writing. But I did want to proclaim what I feel is right and let all those who want to listen to know that I want to protect my marriage, my children's future marriage's and their rights to their own belief's.

Cruise #4 - Puerto Vallarta

We didn't do much in Puerto Vallarta, but we saw a Sam's club and Walmart close by. We did some shopping right off of the ship and then Josh and I got some really good and relaxing massages. It was a perfect, tropical setting with the white sheets all around you blowing in the wind, the distant sound of the ocean, and the smell of relaxation.
We had some great dining service. Our head waiter, waiter, and assistant waiter just loved our table. We had the best view of the ocean when we ate and the food was so yummy as you can tell by the tightness of our clothes by the 7th day.

Cruise #3 - Mazatlan

Our second stop was Mazatlan. We went to El Cid Hotel and Resorts because they are known for their really cool pools, slides, and water falls. I guess in other countries they don't worry about law suits because I know in the states no place would allow you to do this. The resort is located right on the beach so we also went Para Sailing. I had never done it before but Josh had. It was amazing, but I couldn't help but keep thinking about "what if..." the rope broke, or the metal piece snapped or the parachute flew away. So the 8 minutes up there was plenty for me.

Cruise - Cabo San Lucas

Our first stop was Cabo San Lucas. Not much there, but we walked around and found some interesting stuff. We especially loved the sign that my sister is standing by. When we got back on the ship we had 3 soft serve icecream cones for lunch. They were so yummy! That night after the entertainment show we played name that tune, but you had to go up and sing it when you knew the song. We won 2nd place and it was actually kind of fun. Josh got into it at the end and was totally dancing.

Mexican Riviera Cruise

We had a blast on our 7 day cruise through the Mexican Riviera. Before we left port we had to participate in an emergency evacuation and wear these life jackets. It has become tradition to take a picture wearing them. I don't now why we look ridiculous. These pictures are the first 2 days at sea. The cruise director must have liked our group because he made all 3 of us do the sexy legs competition (for guys) and sexy bicep competition (for girls), hence the picture of the 3 of us. That night we had a formal dinner. I is a lot of fun to get ready for dinner and have a nice, quiet luxury meal with no clean up and no kids. I can't remember what the food was except that I ate way too much.

Beach Camping

Sorry there is going to be a lot of pictures in this one since I haven't blogged in almost 2 months. The beginning of August we went beach camping with my side of the family and it was fun to be with everyone and of course be at the beach all day, but camping is not my thing anymore. I use to love it before I was married so I tried to think of the reasons I may not like it and here they are...
1.NO SLEEP - Have to live in a tent that isn't sound proof so every time a baby woke up, which was usually mine, I would jump out of my uncomfortable bed that always seemed dirty no matter how hard I tried to keep it clean, check to see if it was Elle. If it was her then I would try whatever I could to get her back to sleep if that means taking her in our truck for 4 hours just to get her back to sleep.
2.BATHROOM ARRANGEMENTS - Do I really have to go here! The bathrooms stink, the toilets are always filthy, good luck finding a bathroom with toilet paper especially when you need to use it in the middle of the night, there isn't any soap nor paper towels, the showers are quarter operated but you most likely won't get hot water, and you never feel clean even after taking your shower.
3. MEALS - The clean up stinks.
4. BABIES - Camping and babies don't go good together. They have nothing to do except lay, dig, and eat the dirt.
Even though this sounds bad I did have a good time but I need to remind myself so when next year rolls around I will remember that it's not a relaxing vacation.

The Ninja's

Tyler came out of his bedroom one night with all of his "weapons." I didn't get that picture but there were at least 12 "weapons" in his pants, down his shirt, in his hands, and around his waist. So then of course Josh had to join in and they had a little battle. Way cute and fun. I'm glad that Josh was around because I would of hated to have to play battle with Tyler.

Bachelorette #2

Really quick. Just wanted to tell everyone and anyone who wants to come to watch Bachelorette or just hang out Monday that we will start it around 8:30-8:45 so that way we don't have to watch commercials. But come earlier or later if you want. Some of you have asked to bring a goodie and go for it, but you really don't have too. I'm going to have strawberries and cream, rice krispie treats, and chocolate. I am really excited. I really do think she's choosing Jason too, but you never know. I was also watching a clip on the internet and it sounded like Brad was showing up. We'll see.

Bachelorette

So I've really gotten into the Bachelorette this season. Anyone want to get together at my house to watch the finale after the kids are asleep next Monday?

Tyler finished his first 8 weeks of preschool through the city of Corona. 1 more year and he is off to kindergarten. Can't believe it.

I love my kids!

Josh took Tyler with him to the Dodger "all you can eat" right field on Saturday. All of the Bladh boys went and they ate way too many hotdogs, nachos, peanuts, sodas, etc. Not to mention it was 110' that day and they were there for the noon game. I just told Josh to pour water on him every inning and cake the sunscreen on. Regardless they had a blast.
Here Tyler is driving home from the game. Poor guy he was so tired.

Every now and then in the morning I will go into Elle's room and find Tyler has climbed into the crib with her and he has filled it with tons of toys. Last week I took these pictures because it was just so cute. Not to mention Elle is totally walking now. I've been meaning to get it on video. Maybe next week.

Tyler just had his birthday and Josh's mom got him these socks that needed to be first placed in water to expand into socks. So we put them in the sink and they of course turned into socks. We were up really late that night. We put up his new trampoline and he didn't get into bed until 10:30. When I told him it was time for bed he just threw himself crying, "I'm not even tired." I had to fight him to get on his pjs, and to brush his teeth, and to say his prayers. He literally cried and yelled out I don't like you's and you are mean's. It was so sad, but kind of funny at the same time. Anyways, the socks... As we finished brushing his teeth he told me he wanted to wear his socks to bed. Now they were still soaking wet in his sink and so of course I told him absolutely not. I decided I didn't want to fight anymore and I put the socks on thinking he would take them off right away. He didn't and went to bed with them on. I barely got to take this picture of him.

Flat Tire Again!

My sister, Kristi, just finished High School and she invited me to her graduation from Don Lugo High School. I was suppose to take the kids with me to the restaurant then drop them off at Grandpa and Grammie Bladh's home because Josh was working, then meet over at my parents and go to the graduation. Well, on our way to the restaurant I thought I hit something in the road, but I think that a lot because I am so prone to getting flat tires. In fact I have already gotten one this year and had 2 last year. So I keep driving because if you know Archibald, it feels like you have a flat tire when you are driving on it anyways. I get on the freeway and I drive about 4 miles and then I hear this awful sound. Like someone's muffler is gone. I notice people starring at me so I get over and sure enough less then a mile from off of the freeway and my tire is completely flat. We waited about 40 min. on the freeway until Josh's parents got the kids, my dad came to pick me up, and AAA came to change my tire. It wasn't all too bad. I missed dinner, but made it to the graduation. Here are some pictures of our event. Just glad I didn't have to change the tire!

Our getaway

We just got back from a weekend cruise without the kids and it was so relaxing and fun. It definitely wasn't like a week cruise but hey it was without kids. We didn't even get off of the boat because when we arrived in Ensenada we looked out and decided that the ship was nicer. We pretty much layed out in the sun, ate, slept, and made some new friends. We were so nervous that we'd get put at a table with people we didn't want to talk to, but we ended up making friends with another couple and hung out with them almost the entire time. I forgot my makeup... my worst nightmare. I had this feeling I was going to do it and of course I did. So I bought some mascara on the ship and then one night I went to the gift shop and used their tester makeup. I know that sounds bad but we got so much sun that my face looked blotchy and I didn't want to spend $75 on cover up if I didn't like. If you've never been on a cruise or have only been on a weekend one; nothing compares to a week cruise. The ship, the food, the entertainment, and the people on the ship are much better. We are looking forward to our week one to Mexican Riviera in Sept. I think we still have one more cabin if anyone wants to go! Here's some pictures

The Lovely Bladh Family

The Lovely Bladh Family

Josh and Erika

For those who I have not seen for a long time I thought that I should write a little about our family. Josh and I were married Feb. 22,2003 and are as happy as can be...really! We have 2 kids, Tyler (3) and Elle (14 mos). We will have more but taking a break. We are hopefully less then 2 weeks away from moving to our brand spankin' new house in Corona. Josh is doing real estate loans and I am doing real estate. We feel that the Lord has blessed us so much to have a lovely family, a home (soon), and a career that we just love and find fascinating.
